The DLS-55 from IOTA Engineering is a versatile power converter and battery charger that converts 108-132 AC voltage to 13.4 DC voltage for optimal operation of both DC loads and 12V batteries. With tightly controlled regulation, this unit can support a 12VDC load of up to 55 amps. Additionally, it can maintain the battery by delivering full-rated current when the battery's capacity falls too low. To protect the battery from overheating, the voltage is set to deliver maximum current for a specific amount of time. This ensures the longest possible lifespan for the battery. As the battery reaches its full capacity, the DLS-55 will automatically lower the current to provide a float-charge and prevent self-discharge of the cells.
